Why here, why now

Before the plantations, a thriving community of Kanaka Maoli called Hawaiʻi home. With an estimated population over a million, Kanaka Maoli was the epitome of harmonious living with their space. We lost that space.

Fast forward to today, post-plantation, in the midst of a visitor industry meltdown, and a 21st century technology revolution, generations are being born removed from the monotony of work and dedicating their time and energy towards purpose, creativity, and connection.

The days of working hard just to work hard are fading away. We think deeply. We connect. We reflect. We care.

So, we need spaces that restore, reconnect, and regenerate. We need spaces that right old wrongs. We need spaces that challenge the status quo and unafraid to take chances. We need tomorrowʻs thinking, yesterdayʻs guidance, and todayʻs presence.
